Wipro plans 'Remote Working Solutions' and other Tech Adaptations; To continue Hiring!
Home > News Shots > Business news Wipro, one of the largest Information Technology majors in India has reportedly hired 7,000 people before the quarter ended in June. Further, the company has announced that it will continue hiring despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Saurabh Govil, the Chief of Human Resources at Wipro has confirmed that the firm will hire in a phased manner throughout this year. “Lateral hiring never stopped. Growth is the agenda and we will continue to hire in Q2 and onwards,” he said while speaking to media persons.
However, he added that this year’s hiring will only progress based on need.
Apart from lateral hiring, the company has also already begun on-boarding freshers. Going forward, “It would be staggered and delayed based on business requirements,” Govil said. Freshers hiring is likely to happen right from July to September till December 2020. The reason for on-boarding freshers systematically and in low numbers has been stated as the delay in terms of closing the academic year.
A definite number for campus hiring has not been revealed by the company yet.
Before the onset of the pandemic, Wipro was planning on hiring 12,000 freshers, similar to the previous fiscal year.
