Video: Why Top level Executives Are Quitting Cognizant? - Report
Home > News Shots > Business newsA day after chairman and managing director of Cognizant’s India Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, resigned from his post, employees, who are still in shock, demand to know why a series of top-level exits are taking place in the company.
Ramamoorthy, who ended his 23 years of association with the IT services firm was not available for comment, but in a social media post he said: “In the past few months, I felt a strong desire to double down on my abiding passion (also my first calling!)—education, skilling and mentoring entrepreneurs. I am all set to explore that world again from July 17.”
Ramamoorthy, who joined Cognizant in 1998 as a programme manager is not the first on the list to quit. Cognizant, yesterday announced the resignation of Pradeep Shilige who was heading global delivery and was with the firm for 24 years.
Meanwhile, Brian Humphries, CEO of Cognizant, in an internal mail, said: “I would like to thank Ramkumar for his successful tenure here, for his many contributions over the years, and for being a passionate brand ambassador of Cognizant with our multiple external stakeholders.”
"I do not believe in death by a thousand cuts, I would rather pull the Band-Aid off and get it behind us, he said at an investor event last year," Humphries, who joined Cognizant in April 2019, indicated a deep cut as part of an effort to restructure the firm.
As per Times Now report, in the last year since Brian Humphries took charge as CEO, Cognizant reportedly has seen a series of top-level exits. These exits come at a time, when the firm is facing larger challenges on the growth front, as it struggles into a return to industry-leading growth like before amid pandemic.
Looking into the long list of executives, who have quit includes COO Srinivasan Veeraraghavachary. Even, the current global delivery head Pradeep Shilige has quit after a long tenure of 24 years. He was replaced by Andy Stafford, who is an Accenture veteran.
After that, was the Former CEO Francisco D’Souza, who stepped down from the board in February. Meanwhile, in May, the company announced that 400 employees would be fired from their posts in a staggered manner.
