WhatsApp Voice & Video Calls Can Have 8 People Now; More Details Listed!
Home > News Shots > Business newsAt a time when video chats and calls are becoming the norm for work from home situation because of the deadly coronavirus, WhatsApp recently confirmed that it has increased the number of participants to join a video or audio call from four to eight.
Yes, you heard it right! In a recent update, the popular messaging app, has double its previous limit of four to eight on a video or voice call.
“Over the last month, people on average are spending over 15 billion minutes talking each day on WhatsApp calls, well above a typical day before the pandemic. And just like written messages, all those calls are protected with end-to-end encryption. We have built group calling in a way that makes it available for as many users as possible, including people on lower-end devices and slow network conditions,” the company said in an official statement.
For the new updated version, you will need to visit the Apple App Store for the iPhones and the Google Play Store for Android phones and download the latest version of the app. Following that you can proceed to make calls by opening the calls menu in the app and selecting people to join the group voice or video call.
Another new feature is, if you want to make a call within an existing group on WhatsApp, then open the group and tap the call icon; soon after selecting the people from the group who would be a part of the group call.
