Home > News Shots > Business newsAlthough COVID-19 is the primary reason behind companies encouraging employees to work from home, many companies have actually extended working from home till 2021 or have announced permanent work from home. IT Major Tech Mahindra too is one of the companies that is planning to announce permanent work from home for few employees.
Tech Mahindra CFGO Manoj Bhat while speaking to Business Insider told that the company will be announcing permanent work from home for around 20%- 25% of its employees. “This will mean change in policies, change in our facilities, creating a new model to attract talent- all of those changes will come in,” he said.
Tech Mahindra is likely to carry these changes over the next four quarters. “Maybe by March or June next year,” he told.
While talking about the reason behind choosing one- third of the workforce, he stated, “We did an analysis of what kind of work streams are involved, where are the areas where it is more amenable to work from over a long period of time without any potential risks.”
He also added that the employees will be coming into the office once in a while. “We have picked up that continuously working from home, there is an element fo becoming distant and not connected,” he noted.
TCS too proposed a model for working from home called the 25/25 model wherein only 25% of the employees will be in the office and a particular employee will spend only 25% of their time in office. Other IT Companies too are making similar changes in order to introduce new work from home programmes for employees.
