TCS, Cognizant Can Increase Freshers' Salary in 2020; HCL to Hire More!

IT major Cognizant is expected to hire 20,000 'digitally-skilled' graduates from India in 2020. The company has also increased the average compensation for campus freshers at 18% to Rs 400,000 per annum.

“We continue to be a net hirer of engineering, science, management and o ther graduates as well as experienced professionals. With more and more students on campuses becoming digitally ready, we have announced a 30 percent increase in our hiring of engineering and science students for 2020,” the company spokesperson was quoted as saying by trak.in.

Cognizant said its digital revenue has been growing by more than 20% year-on-year. Presently, the company has about 80 clients in India and is looking to strengthen the core areas of data, digital engineering, cloud and internet of things.

According to data by Teamlease, the salaries of entry-level employees in India's Information Technology companies grew nearly 15% between 2017 and 2019 while the salaries of mid-level employees increased by 11%.
