Restaurants to logout from Swiggy from November 11!
Home > News Shots > Business newsVijayawada Hotel Owners’ Association as announced on Wednesday that all hoteliers will log out of Swiggy from November 11, 6 am to protest against all the food delivery apps, reports The Hindu.
They have claimed that the pressure to increase the commission is high and the owners have to bear the other charges.
“Online apps like Swiggy, Zomato, Uber Eats and others had started businesses with zero commission, and gradually increased it to 10 per cent. Now, with their hold in the city becoming stronger, they are increasing it from 18 to 25 per cent. In addition, we have to bear the costs of order cancellations, telephone charges, and many other hidden charges,” said the association's president.
The secretary said that all the apps are more or less the same and it is turning into a burden for them. And if things are not set straight, he said that they would extend it to other apps as well. He also said that they need the government to intervene.
