Tips to Handle Crisis: Here is How You can Handle the On-Going Job Crisis due to COVID-19
Home > News Shots > Business newsThe COVID-19 crisis has caused a great crisis which the world hasn’t faced in decades. This crisis has kept employees under great pressure. Be it corporate or small and individual businesses, invariably pay cuts and financial loss are a problem.
One of the greatest challenges that this crisis posts, is that of finding a job. Researches prove that companies will cut many jobs, or at least stop new hiring as consumers will be cautious as to what they spend their money on.
There are three important things that one can implement and grow in order to compete in the job market.
The first and foremost is to set yourself apart from the others. Every year, millions of students graduate and enter the market with degrees. Unless and until a person has skillsets he/she will not be able to compete against the top 1% who graduate from the top brand colleges.
Developing intangibles such as values, empathy, and determination are also things that matter in the industry. These are essential as they are equivalent to having experience.
Secondly, it is important to constantly upgrade yourself. Businesses invest time and money in research and development. Such investments are highly reliant on the employees’ ideas, or breakthrough inventions.
Finally, one needs to ingrain the capability of tapping the untapped potential. By changing the nature of the market, one can create an advantage for oneself and for the organisation or market. Discovering what you are good at and developing yourself to attain capability to create new models and ideas will help.
