IBM CEO & PM Modi Discuss Work From Home Scenario & Challenges Involved - Report!
Home > News Shots > Business newsAmid lockdown and COVID-19 crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a virtual interaction with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and discussed three important factors of the company. The discussion was related on the impact of the pandemic on the company's culture and its work-from-home scenario as well as other things.
Highlighting about the new normal that companies have introduced, Modi said that ‘work from home’ is being adopted in a big way. Meanwhile, the government is also constantly working towards providing infrastructure, connectivity and regulatory environment to ensure shift is smooth.
As per Live Mint report, PM Modi also discussed the technologies associated and challenges involved to make 75 percent of its employees to work from home. The prime minister further appreciated the role played by IBM, in association with CBSE. He lauded the launch of AI curriculum in 200 schools in India.
Meanwhile, IBM CEO said that teaching about technology and data should be in the category of basic skills like algebra, needs to be taught with passion and should be introduced early. As per Business Standard report, the IBM-AI curriculum is part of CBSE's Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) programme.
It will be introduced in about 200 schools across 13 states which are; Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Kerala, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.
During the interaction, IBM CEO later briefed about company's investment plans in India and also expressed confidence in the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. However, other areas of discussion were issues of data security, cyber attacks, concerns around privacy, and health benefits of Yoga.
Finally, IBM CEO also appreciated Modi's vision for Ayushman Bharat and discussed about using technology for early identification of diseases, Live Mint further added.
