Good News for IT Employees: Tech firms to Start Business in full Force, Govt issues Guidelines! - Report
Home > News Shots > Business newsOn Thursday, the Tamil Nadu government issued a fresh set of guidelines for the IT industry to function in the state. Due to the prolonging lockdown period and increase in the number of coronavirus cases, several industries including IT have been hampered.
Under the new provisions, IT industries are permitted to function with 10% of employees at the office premises in Greater Chennai police limits. This move is likely to benefit IT giants including, TCS, HCL, Cognizant, IBM, among the others.
In a statement, the state government said that the employees who are part of the 10% workforce, must follow the norms of social distancing. Further, the companies will have to arrange or their travel, such are providing cars, busses or other modes of transportation. Employees must also be taking safety precautions such as wearing a mask, washing their hands frequently, regularly sanitising their equipment, and maintaining personal standard hygiene.
Previously, the state government had decided to allow 50% of the workforce to work from the office premises from July 6. However, they revised the numbers and limited the maximum number of employees to 80.
