Facebook Extends ‘Work From Home’ For Employees; To pay '$1,000 for Each Employee'– Details

The on-going global coronavirus pandemic has restricted companies from across the globe from entering their workspace. This has resulted in a wide percentage of employees working from the comfort of their homes.
On Thursday, Facebook announced that it has extended ‘Work From Home’ for its employees until July 2021. Further the company is also likely to be giving $1,000 for home office needs. This marks Facebook Incorporation’s alignment with other technology giants’ similar move.
"Based on guidance from health and government experts, as well as decisions drawn from our internal discussions about these matters, we are allowing employees to continue voluntarily working from home until July 2021", a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.
"In addition, we are giving employees an additional $1,000 for home office needs," she added.
However, Facebook has also mentioned that it will continue opening its offices in certain areas with minimum capacity. The places where it will re-open offices is unknown but the spokesperson hinted that it will only be in areas where the virus has been successfully mitigated for a period of two months.
Previously, Twitter had announced that the company is comfortable with its employees working from home for an indefinite period of time. Further, Alphabet Incorporation also extended work from home until June 2021.
