Ambani Tops the List Followed by TCS and HDFC; Forbes Billionaires List
Home > News Shots > Business newsAccording to 'The Real-Time Billionaires List' of Forbes, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani became the 9th richest person in the world. Ambani's phenomenal growth could be attributed to RIL crossing Rs 10 lakh crore market capitalization mark on Thursday. Reportedly RIL is the first Indian company to reach such a massive feat.
Earlier Ambani was listed at NO 13 in the Forbes 2019 rich list and is now raised to the top among Indian companies in the latest list. TCS, Hindustan Uniliver and HDFC are placed after Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) in 'The Real-Time Billionaires List'. On Thursday, RIL shares rose to 0.64 percent which was the 52-week high of Rs 1,581.25 on the BSE.
Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos topped the list globally with a net worth of $113 billion. RIL's net worth is stated to be $60.8 billion on Thursday. It is said that RIL has recently announced plans to set up Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) - a wholly-owned subsidiary for all its digital platform initiatives. While RIL has invested a share of Rs 650 billion for Jio, JPL is likely to get 1.08 trillion
