Amazon India Works out New Strategy, Creates 20,000 Jobs - Details!
Home > News Shots > Business newsLeading E-commerce company Amazon India on Sunday announced that it is opening nearly 20,000 temporary or seasonal jobs in its customer service (CS) organization. The job would require employees to help customers in India as well as across the globe to have a seamless online shopping experience.
The new temporary positions is going to be open in Hyderabad, Pune, Coimbatore, Noida, Kolkata, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mangaluru, Indore, Bhopal and Lucknow.
The company also said in a statement that most of these positions are a part of Amazon's virtual customer Service’ programme. It provides flexible work from home options to its employees.
“The new positions will see associates support customer services through e-mail, chat, social media and phone. The eligibility criteria for these positions include having minimum educational qualification of 12th standard pass and proficiency in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu or Kannada,” Economic Times reported.
The company also said that based on the performance of the candidates, some of the temporary positions will be converted into permanent ones by the end of the year.
"We are continuously evaluating hiring needs across the customer service organisation in response to the growing customer demand. We estimate that customer traffic will further scale up over the next six months with the onset of Indian and global holiday seasons," Amazon India Director (Customer Service) Akshay Prabhu told the media.
