AKSHAY KUMAR’S MUCH AWAITED TOILET EK PREM KATHA IN LEGAL TROUBLE?

Documentary filmmaker Praveen Vyas has alleged that the upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a direct copy of his documentary 'Manini.'

According to Praveen, Manini which released in 2015 bagged many international film festival awards in the documentary category, and it also won the third prize in Swachh Bharat Mission at last year’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The director has now taken the legal notice to the makers of Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

In the petition, Praveen claimed that the core content of Toilet Ek Prem Katha was copied from his original film Manini. He further claimed that few dialogues and scenes in particular which were seen in the trailer were also copied from his film.

Shital Bhatia, co- producer of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha with Neeraj Pandey and Akshay, denied Vyas’s allegations and said that the allegations are not true and Siddharth and Garima originally wrote the content of Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Shital Bhatia also said that the issue would be battled legally.
