Farhan Akhtar, the director of the superhit film 'Dil Chata Hai' which featured Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta and Sonali Kulkarni went on to become one of the career-best films for all of these actors. Nearly, after 16 years of its release, the director opened up about its sequel plan. The director in his promotion of his upcoming film 'Lucknow Central' was asked if he has any plans of direct the sequel of 'Dil Chata Hai.'

Farhan Akhtar said he loved working for 'Dil Chata Hai' and he has a lot of memories for the film. But, the director made it very clear that he has no plans for the sequel and said, "it is not necessary to have a sequel if a film does well, and fans extremely loved Dil Chata Hai, but it doesn't mean there should be a sequel."

Farhan Akhtar is currently concentrating on his acting career. The director turned actor is one of the most bankable actors in B-town with just a couple of days left for the release of his upcoming film 'Lucknow Central,' Farhan is hoping to give another entertaining performance to his fans.
