Social media has become a platform for public and celebrities to voice their opinions and create an impact.
However, a popular Bollywood director has recently deactivated his Twitter account and decided to share his thoughts and reasons leading up to the decision.
Director Shashank Khaitan shared a Tweet on Monday which reads, “Done with Twitter… just a breeding ground for hate and negativity… very sad that a platform so powerful could not be used to create a better world…praying for peace and love always. Deactivating my account now…”
The ‘Dhadak’ director also shared a screenshot of his final Tweet on Instagram and captioned it with a thought-provoking message which reads, “Finally deleted my Twitter account…I am surely inconsequential, in terms of followers and reach for the platform…but I believe every voice is important. Hope such a powerful platform can evolve and reform to spread love and happiness…Praying for a peaceful world always.”
Shashank Khaitan has directed the Bollywood films ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Dhadak’ and turned producer for the films ‘Good Newwz’ and ‘Bhoot - Part 1: The Haunted Ship’.
