We find a handful of romantic-family entertainers in Telugu cinema every year, yet time and again, it is proven to be a successful genre provided it is told in a fresh and enticing manner.

Hello is the latest addition to this category, and it also has a fun action track, which keeps the audience on the hook. The story is simple; a boy searches for his childhood love. That’s it, sounds outdated and slightly amateurish right? But director Vikram K Kumar has made sure that no one feels that way. With an engaging screenplay, Hello turns out to be a breezy feel-good entertainer, with some minor glitches of course.

Akhil and Kalyani’s chemistry and the family moments overshadow the illogical action scenes. Though the stunts do not serve a purpose, they come in very handy, thanks to some brilliantly choreographed action moves.

Akhil gets a proper script to showcase his talent and uses this chance to deliver the goods convincingly as he shines both as an action and romantic hero. Akhil as Avinash aka Cheenu has done, especially well in the scenes where he cuts loose and lets pent-up feelings. But his action moves are what majorly strikes a chord with the crowd. Kalyani has no trouble being the lovable, cute young girl and her expressions are not bad for a debutante.

Ramya Krishnan and Jagapathi Babu as Akhil’s parents light up a few scenes with their expert acting. The heartwarming family bonding portion could click among a section of the audience. None of the other characters have a significant scope in the movie.

Anup Rubens music is another highlight, apart from his hum-worthy tracks, the re-recording sounds apt for the script. Be it the action scenes or heart-wrenching emotional scenes, his music always backs every single frame shown. PS Vinod gives a glossy canvas to the overall look and feel of the film with his camera. The stunt scenes wouldn’t have been special without his unique angle and framing.

Overall, Hello is a movie that you will enjoy. Yes, in the end, it gets a little too dramatic, but having said that, it is an entertainer that you will not regret if you take your family along.

Verdict: Hello is a well-made clean family entertainer that could keep you blushing!
