Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran is scheduled to release on September 29th for Pooja holidays weekend, but its Television rights have already been sold well in advance. This is a good sign especially when the demand for satellite rights for films is at an all-time low.
We are informed that Vijay Television has procured the satellite rights of Velaikkaran. Maan Karate and Marina are the other notable Sivakarthikeyan films that are with Vijay TV.
On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan has moved on to his next film after Velaikkaran. Director Rajesh kickstarted Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram’s untitled movie in Tenkasi today.

It was a grand gala evening on the 11th June at Chennai trade centre where we had hosted our annual awards show. Ilayathalapathy Vijay was honored with Samrat of South Indian Box office and People’s Choice-Actor medals. Clad in a smart white shirt and a black trouser, the hero rocked it big time with his majestic presence and his acceptance speech.
Vijay said, “I am a regular follower of behindwoods and read their articles. They put in a lot of hard work for their articles, reviews and write-ups. When there is so much of hard work in such features, it is understandable about their efforts for such a grand event.
I have received two awards and it gives me a feeling of pride mixed with trepidation. Receiving public votes surely gives me a good feeling. When I think that I had 20 years under my control, I feel very proud.
At this juncture, I would like to talk about our farmers. We all wish well for each other. But farmers who wish well for all of us are not happy. This evening, we are all being awarded for our hard work, but I feel very sad for the farmers who are toiling hard unmindful of any returns for their hard work.
Right now, we are only eating unhealthy food and I am afraid even that may not be available for the next generation. We will only understand when a situation comes wherein, we will not have food even if we pay money. It is mandatory and urgent that we need to address farmer’s problems. It is sad to note that after producing rice, farmers stand in the ration shop to buy it. India can consider becoming a super-power later, but first we should take care of our farmers”

Sony Music has acquired the audio rights of Ajith Kumar’s Vivegam. They made it official last night. Vivegam would be Sony Music’s sixth association with Ajith.
Their previous collaborations are Mankatha, Billa 2, Arrambam, Yennai Arindhaal and Vedalam. With the hit machine Anirudh being the man behind the music, the album could very well be another massive hit.
Let’s hope for another Aaluma Doluma or if not an even bigger sensational track from this successful combination.
Versatile SJ Suryah was presented with Best Actor – Critic’s Choice at the Behindwoods Gold Medals 2017 on the 11th June for his performance in Iraivi and the award was presented by director/producer/actor Cheran.
Suryah was welcomed with a roar by the audience who did not leave an opportunity to ask about Vijay 61. For the latecomers, Suryah plays the antagonist in Vijay 61. A very happy Suryah said, “Vijay 61 – semaya vandhuttrikku. The film is shaping up well and all that I can say is that the fans can expect a full meal with Vijay 61 and the highlight would surely be Vijay sir’s 3 roles, his performance, dance and Atlee’s direction.”
