Yaathriga
Composer: RH Vikram
Vocals: Navin Iyer
Lyrics: Na Muthukumar

A major plus for this track is that Late Na Muthukumar has penned this composition which is sure to give you goosebumps. This track is most definitely the pick of the album. Simply because of the efficient usage of so many instruments which are barely heard in the Indian film music scene. This track is the travel song and justice is served by its lyrics. A Burmese touch is all over the song as string instruments like the Burmese Harp, the Oud, Saz and the Viola are used coherently. Incorporation of woodwind instruments which include the flute and a rare Didgeridoo is a major highlight of this song. Percussions take the song to a whole new level while Navin's full throttled singing supplements every additional instrument used in this number. Effortless orchestration makes sure there will be a warm welcome for RH Vikram into this industry.

Ennai Marrakirene  - Singing from the heart
Composer: RH Vikram
Vocals: Maria Kavita Thomas
Lyrics: GKB, Manoj Kumar

Not often do we hear songs like these in Tamil cinema. We have gradually moved into a generation where all music directors have started to experiment with westernized genres and are not just purely sticking to Indianized folk or authentic music. We see a decent mix of it all. This is one such track where the lead singer, Maria Kavita Thomas has taken complete control over the track and has done a great job. They have tagged the song as 'Singing from the heart,' but it looks like she has given not just her heart but also her soul to this track. There is a Baritone Sax that has been used in the song, which carries the track forward, complementing Maria's voice perfectly. Arrangements of the percussions blending with the sax and the usual lead guitars, bass guitars, and the piano are commendable.

Foreign Return
Composer: RH Vikram
Vocals: Anirudh Ravichander, Anthony Dasan, Rita Anthony Dasan
Lyrics: Lallu, Kadal

Foreign return is an ideal foot-tapping number composed by RH Vikram. It features the prodigious voice of Anirudh Ravichander while the latest sensation, Anthony Dasan lends his voice along with his wife, Rita in this groovy dance track. The song brings into the spotlight, the usual expeditious beats, and the instrument Kazoo to add a local flavor. The song has the potential to become an instant hit among the fans of 'Kuthu' songs. Anirudh's voice is a plus for the track as he delivers his best as usual. Anthony Dasan's vocal addition helps the track gain its nativity in its chorus, which is written for the homecoming of a lead character. The trumpets, Nadhaswaram, Darbuka Siva's rhythm arrangements, and indigenous percussions like the Thappatai, add value to the track.

Thottil Madiyil - Lullaby
Composer: RH Vikram
Vocals: Chinmayi
Lyrics: Vivek Velmurugan

The tenuous stridulating of crickets, piano chords, Chinmanyi's ever-mellifluous voice and Vivek's lyrics make up this love lullaby composed by Vikram. You can subtly hear the chiming of bells as you melt into this short melody. As you listen to this track, you will slip into the twilight. Chinmayi, even though it is a very short song, gives an excellent touch to it.

Nee Illa Aagayam
Composer: Vishal Chandrashekhar
Vocals: Yazin Nizar
Lyrics: Kabilan

Totally dominated by Yazin Nizar and the guitars, this funky blues track is an entirely experimental track which opens up the vent for this genre in mainstream film music. Kabilan's lyrics complement Vishal's tune thoroughly. The usage of the guitars in this track is sharp and excellent. At a time when not many people make music in the Jazz/Blues genre, Vishal's confidence in experimenting just goes to prove that there is something more than just a commercial element involved in music as well. While you try to figure out the progression of this song, the beats in the hook, arrest your attention. As in the case of almost all exploratory numbers, this one might not work for the masses but is undoubtedly a brilliant track, which will grab a few ears.

Ey Jajabor
Composer: Vishal Chandrashekhar
Vocals: Kraven Stratfile
Lyrics: Kraven Stratfile

Ey Jajabor is a rock song featuring an independent band called Sattva. This is an Assamese song, written in the native language. Vishal has taken to composing an alternative rock number for the album. The lyrics talk about how a traveler must overcome the stones thrown at him in his path. It is a motivational song, and the genre in which it is composed complements the point conveyed in the song, perfectly. There is an adept treatment of percussions and the guitars which make this a foot-tapping and enjoyable number.

Verdict: Proficient orchestration guarantees an excellent debut for RH Vikram and Vishal Chandrashekar truly displays his experimental self.
