The film fraternity and the general populace woke up to the shocking news of the demise of one of the talented actors of our times, Om Puri.

At a time when good looks were thought to be the primary qualification of an actor, Om Puri with his pox-marked face and a stern countenance changed the perspective with his terrific performances in films like Bhumika, Aakrosh, Ardh Sathya, Mirch Masala and many others.

Kamal Haasan expressed himself with a tweet that read, “So long Omji. Prided myself on being his friend peer & admirer. Who dare say my Om Puri is no more? He lives through his work”.

Yes, very true. An artist is always immortal and Om Puri will also remain that way.
