On behalf of the Union Government, Attorney General of India, Mukul Rohatgi pleaded with the Supreme Court to hold back any judgement on Jallikattu to not instigate Tamil Nadu people's passion any further.
The Supreme Court accepted Attorney General of India's request on behalf of the Union Government. This helped the State and the Central Governments to buy time to work out a solution.
Based on the advice from Attorney General of India, Mukul Rohatgi, Tamil Nadu government has drafted a special Jallikattu ordinance and forwarded it to the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh.
Home Minister is expected to approve and forward the ordinance to the President of India.
President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, is expected to give his consent and send the ordinance to Governor of Tamil Nadu, C Vidyasagar.
Once the ordinance is promulgated by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Jallikattu could be held across the state of Tamil Nadu.
Jallikattu in all probability is expected to be held across the state of Tamil Nadu, in two days time, if these administrative and judicial steps are fulfilled.
