FIRST TN CM AND NOW UNION MINISTER

Varalaxmi who recently bagged the Best Actress award at the Behindwoods Gold Medal is an activist when it comes to women’s rights. As part of her Save Shakthi initiative, she met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. Edappadi Palanisamy and submitted a petition seeking Mahila Courts in every district of the state and speeding up on the women abuse cases to render a quick judgment.

She also followed it up further when she went to Delhi and met P P Chaudhery, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Justice and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and reiterated the same at a national level.

After submitting her petition, she met the media and said, “The crimes against women are on the rise because of the delay in the judgment. If it comes on time, there would be fear in the minds of the people. Immediately after receiving the petition, the Honorable Minister said that he is going to send a letter to CMs of all the state and implement this. I am very happy about such a fast response for my petition”.
