The Me Too campaign was started over a year ago, with many people coming out as victims of sexual harassment and assault. It was promoted as a movement to support the victims.

Lately, there have been many developments in this regard and many people have called out to their alleged sexual offenders and taken to their social media pages to share their incidents.

In this light, for the past few days, there have been many reports of sexual harassment against legendary lyricist Vairamuthu. Many women had claimed to have been harassed by him and it was let out on Twitter.

Popular singer and dubbing artiste Chinmayi had helped many women boldly bring to light, their experiences with harassment in various fields. Her Twitter handle is currently flooded with tweets that are accusations against several people.

She, along with many other women (a few identities revealed, and the others anonymous) had tweeted against Vairamuthu, following which there were more allegations against him that were brought to the forefront.

Now, the National Award-winning lyricist has taken to his Twitter page to respond to all the allegations that have surfaced against him.

This can be roughly translated to, "It has become the trend all over the country to spoil the reputation of famous people. In the recent times, I've been insulted a lot. This is also one of them. I don't care about anything except the truth. Time will tell the truth."
