RK Selvamani on the amendments in the wages and other issues related to FEFSI

There has been a tussle between the FEFSI and Producer Council regarding the wages and other problems. Following this, the FEFSI Union has issued a press note which was read out by RK Selvamani:

The Tamil film industry is definitely in a dangerous situation. In order to make it profitable for producers and to benefit everyone working on films, we have discussed with Vishal and have arrived at some decisions for certain problems. These will help in making the situation better for the producers as well as the industry on the whole.

For films which are made under the budget of 4 crores, 40 percent of the wages would be reduced to ensure the growth of small producers. If the shoot goes on till 10 pm, instead of a double call sheet, it will be charged as 1.5 days of work. Inclusive of all films, big and small budget, the conveyance or journey bata will be charged for 1 day on the basis of time instead of distance. For every 24 hours (6 am to 6 am) it will be charged as 1 day of conveyance or travel bata. These are to ensure the growth of small producers and for the betterment of the entire industry. We understand the situation and problems faced by the producers and have been sensitive to their issues.
