Karthik Subburaj’s Iraivi has hit the screens today, the 3rd of June starring Vijay Sethupathi, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Anjali, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Pooja Devariya in important characters. Young and talented actress, Pooja opens up about how she clinched this opportunity.
The first kiss - How did Iraivi happen to you?
I auditioned for the film a couple of times, but dint get any response from the team’s end. By then I shifted to Mumbai and was busy with my things related to theatre. A few days later I received a call from Karthik Subburaj’s office and I came down for my shoot here. To be honest, I didn't know that I was one of the leads.
Your character in the film.
I can't reveal anything about it. One should watch the film to know who and what I do to the story. The screen time might be less, but I'm glad that I play a significant role in the story. Vijay Sethupathi with humility claimed that only I could have done this role, in the sense I fit well in this character.
A special part of Iraivi
I have danced for “Dushta” song and loved the whole idea as Sheriff choreographed different moves and it was a fun experience. The team is well equipped and the work was done quickly; mainly because of the clarity the director had.
Next round of projects
Kutrame Thandanai is ready for theatrical release while Vallavanukku Vallavan with Bobby Simha is nearing completion. Chinnatha Oru Padam with Vidharth.
All the best Pooja!
