Veteran actor Nagesh happens to be a pioneer when it comes to improvising a baddie's role with a flavor of humor, which later became a trend and filmmakers started designing ‘siruppu villain’ roles for the films. Tamil cinema has seen some indelible comedy villains roles in the past.
Mansoor Ali Khan, who started his career as a terrifying villain has acted in few such comedy villain roles. His unique character as a funny baddie in films like Pistha gave him a new dimension. Director KS Ravikumar needs to be equally credited for creating such a character. It was a trendsetting role and many filmmakers started using rough and tough looking actors to play a comedy role. Motta Rajendran is a recent example; from a terrifying villain in Naan Kadavul to some extremely funny character roles in the recent past, his career has seen a drastic change.
After playing character roles, Mansoor Ali Khan is back as a villain in Santhanam’s Odi Odi Uzhaikkanum. He is said to repeat his Pistha magic as he would be playing a comedy villain in the film. It must be noted that Santhanam plays a cop in the film.
