Kalabhavan Mani's dubbing sessions during Papanasam

Kalabhavan Mani’s untimely demise has left his fans and friends in deep shock. While he has worked primarily in Malayalam films, he later diversified into Tamil and Telugu as well.

His last Tamil film was Papanasam where he locked horns with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in which he left no stones unturned to bring Suymabulingam and his family to books to settle his personal scores.

Papanasam’s premise was set in Tirunelveli and the slang is a little difficult for people to speak if they are not used to hearing it regularly. Apparently the language coach for the film Suka had a tough time to make Kalabhavan Mani get the right diction and pronunciation on the first day of dubbing.

Immediately he had recorded the entire dialogues for Mani in the film in his Nellai dialect and handed over to him. The very next day, Mani aced the process perfectly with absolutely no complaint from his language teacher Suka. Such was his understanding and grasp of things. The result was there of course for all us audience to witness in the film. It sure is a great loss Mani!
