“THE AWARD FUNCTION IS WELL ORGANIZED AND CLASSY”

Behindwoods Gold Medals 2017 was held at Chennai Trade Centre last evening (11th June). The event witnessed the who’s who of the industry either in the form of award winners or presenters. RJ Balaji was the Master of Ceremonies who kept the audience in splits with his humor.

Vijay won the Samrat of South Indian Box Office and People’s Choice-Actor; director Mahendran won the Lifetime Achievement Award; producer Thanu got the legendary performer award and Anirudh got the MS Viswanathan Gold Medal for Next-gen musician.

Besides these awards, technicians were honored for their work in front of the camera and also behind it. Some of the awards are Best Poster, Best Producer, Best Marketing, Best PRO, Best Sound Design in addition to the awards for best acting, music, dialogues and screenplay to name a few.

Some of the attendees were Vijay, Arjun, J Mahendran, SP Muthuraman, Kalaipuli Thanu, Cheran, Abirami Ramanathan, PC Sreeram, Sreekar Prasad, Vetri Maaran, Radhika Sarathkumar, Nasser, Sivakarthkeyan, Atlee, Santhosh Narayanan, Anirudh, SJ Suryah, Soori, Samantha, Keerthy Suresh, Nivetha Pethuraj, Guru Somasundaram, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Arun Vaidhyanthan, Prasanna, Sudha Kongara, Pooja Devariya, Kayal Chandran, Anjana, director Kannan, Gautham Karthik, Shraddha Srinath  and others. Malayalam industry was represented by Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Sai Pallavi.

The celebs were unanimous in their response when they said, “The award function is well organized and is classy. We like the fact that various unsung heroes of the industry are being honored and that there is no unnecessary dance or deviation in the show, which is short and sweet”.
