Dulquer's Theevram director Roopesh Peethambaran lashes out at his producer VC Ismayil

The director of Dulquer Salmaan's Theevram (2012), Roopesh Peethambaran, openly criticized producer V.C Ismayil for making a Tamil dubbed version of the original, titled as 'Aaththiram' without his consent.

Roopesh began his career in Malayalam films by playing child artist roles in Mohanlal's Aadu Thoma and Spadikam. Theevram marked his debut as a director and was highly anticipated back then as it was Dulquer's third movie after two blockbusters Second Show and Ustad Hotel. Unfortunately, Theevram did not work well with the audience. It is a dark thriller which has two plots, one set in the present and the other about five years back. It talks about the outburst of a young man towards the legal system.

Roopesh said that 'Aaththiram' is a cheap stunt made by the producer and it is pathetic. He also added that he is not getting into a legal battle because he has no time to waste, indulging in arguments with V.C. Ismayil. He also said that he is sharing this news with the world so that no one else would be doing any film with Ismayil and go through all this. He also accused that no one else other than the producer screwed up the publicity of Theevram during its release and sarcastically thanked him for further screwing it up with a Tamil version
