Director Mysskin talks about Thupparivaalan

Thupparivaalan is an upcoming crime thriller directed by Mysskin. The film features the likes of Vinay, Prasanna, Anu Emmanuel, Andrea and Bhagyaraj in lead roles.

Director Mysskin talks about the progress of the movie and how he has treated it, “We have 10 more days of shoot left for Thupparivaalan, and I am happy with the way the movie has shaped up so far. I had this script in mind for a long time now, and Vishal fits the bill of playing a Sherlock Holmes-like detective. Prasanna’s character has the shades of Dr. Watson. Everyone gets inspired by something or the other. Harishchandra inspired Mahatma Gandhi. Likewise, Edgar Allen Poe came up with the first detective story and then came up with Sherlock Holmes. There is a thin line between inspiration and plagiarism. My story has nothing related to Sherlock Holmes or other detective movies.

Thupparivaalan has anecdotes from Subramaniya Bharathi, Mahatma Gandhi; there is love, friendship, and ego. This is something I always wanted to write. With each movie starting from Chithiram Pesudhadi, I have learned a lot of things in handling such script. I will make 200 more movies in the same genre.”

Mysskin also says that Vishal was his obvious choice for this script. “Vishal’s physique suited the script well. However, for the movie, I pitched in with my inputs, and he did whatever he could. He is like my younger brother, and I always listen to him. However, I wonder, if the audience will see Thupparivaalan as Vishal’s film or Mysskin’s. There are 10 more days of shoot left before we wrap up.This movie will be released by VFF banner on 11th August, I have treated all characters equally for this film.”
