Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan talks about Remo

Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan spoke to Behindwoods about his much-awaited debut vehicle Remo. Having got to work with the likes of Sivakarthikeyan, PC Sreeram, Resul Pookutty and Anirudh in his very first film, Bakkiyaraj Kannan must be a lucky man.

Here are few interesting tidbits from Bakkiyaraj’s interview to us.

1. Were you the one to name Sivakarthikeyan as local Shah Rukh Khan in one of the songs from Remo?

No, it was Anirudh, he had used dummy lyrics while composing the song and we retained it even after Vignesh Shivn penned the lyrics for the song.

2. Working experience with big technicians like PC Sreeram and director like KS  Ravikumar?

I was nervous to direct Ravikumar sir. I used to rehearse with PC Sreeram sir before explaining a scene to Ravikumar sir. It was an interesting experience.

When I approached PC Sreeram sir, I did not tell him about the climax fight sequence in the film fearing he might reject my offer thinking it’s a commercial movie. But later we shot the fight scene and it is there in the film.

3. How difficult was it for Sivakarthikeyan to play an effeminate role in Remo?

He had to do a lot of home work to play the character. So he took some time to get things set but when it came to dubbing, he did it with ease and élan since Siva is a mimicry artist himself.

To know more interesting facts about Remo, watch the full interview of Baakiyaraj Kannan which will be uploaded soon.
