Costumer Sathya on why he chose red color suit for Vijay in Bairavaa

The recent stills from Vijay’s Bairavaa had the Ilayathalapathy in a red suit which has come in for a lot of attention.

Apparently, the red color did not go too well with some and designer Sathya took to his microblogger to explain. He tweeted, “I was overwhelmed by the response I received for #Ilayathalapathy @actorvijay Sir's costumes in the recently released #Bairavaa stills. Some people asked why the costumes in this film are not like costumes in #Kaththi or #Thuppakki. For them, I like to say I have designed this based on genre of the script as this film happens in a small town unlike #Thuppakki &#Kaththi. I challenge that #BairavaaShirt & #Bairavaa costumes will suit the visuals and locations and they will apt when seen on big screen”.

We contacted Sathya and this is what he had to say, “A few people wonder about the color of the coat. Actually, it is the color that Vijay sir has never worn. Usually, it will be grey or black and we wanted to try a new color. I work according to the need of the script. When the film releases, you will know the reason. This is for the song shoot in Swiss. The frame will be very misty and in fact, even the red color appears muted against the background”.

Sathya is also involved as a costumer in Shivalinga, Balloon, and Balae Vellaya Theva (Sasikumar).
