A HOLLYWOOD VILLAIN AND AN ITALIAN CAMERAMAN FOR A TAMIL FILM

Ashwin Kakumanu is doing the lead in a film to be directed by Rathindran Prasad who shot to fame with his music video, ‘Kodaikanal Wont’ and short film ‘Swayer’s Corporation’. Ghibran is the music composer of this film which is tentatively titled as Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai.

Ashwin details about this project, “I heard the script a few months ago and felt it was layered and the director to be talented. It had a different perspective about mythology and an alternative take on history.  Guru Somasundaram sir is playing a 75 year old man in the film. I am playing a video game designer. It was a very different and strong script. Rathindran is talented and thoughtful. He liked my work in Idharkuthanae Aasaipattai Balakumara. He had also seen me with a beard and felt I can pull off the requirements of his character.

We will begin the shoot from August. It will be shot largely outdoors in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other places. It will be more of a road trip travel thriller genre with some mystical elements. Animation sequences will be there. Post production of the film is going to be done in Bangkok.

Hollywood wrestler and actor Greg Burridge will be playing the villain and choreographing action sequences. Italian cinematographer Roberto Zazzara will take charge of camera work. There are three lady characters that pivot the film and they will soon be finalized.”.
