Arun Vijay updates about his 36 hour shoot for Arivazhagan film

Arun Vijay’s maiden production venture under his home banner In Cinemas Entertainment is directed by Arivazhagan. Recently the unit shot a non-stop 36 hours at a dump yard in Chennai. Arun Vijay updates about the same:

“The film is a medical crime thriller and this particular scene is an important one.  It is a crime detection scene that happens in a dump yard. We shot in Velachery-Pallikaranai dump yard. It was a huge set up which required 400 junior artists, 5 cameras, helicam and proclainers. We could not break as the continuity may suffer otherwise. We started off early in the morning and went on in a marathon mode for almost 36 hours. We also had the safety measures in place. We gave the crew gumboots and masks. We actually wanted to give a break, but once we reached there, we realized it would be very difficult if we did that. But it was very interesting and we got the shots the way we wanted.

First time, I am playing a cop. I have always wanted to do a cop role and now it is happening. The story is the base of writer Rajesh Kumar’s novel which Arivazhagan has  revamped. It is wonderful to work with someone as talented as Arivazhagan sir.

The team is an  energetic one. Bhaskar of Vallinam and 10 Endrathukulla fame is the DoP, Vishal Chandrasekar is the music director, Bhuvan Srinivasan is the editor, Silvaa master is in charge of stunts and Shakthi is the art director.

We have completed 30-35% of the shooting. Most of the shoot will happen in Chennai only. We are planning in Pondicherry for a small schedule. There are a few church sequences for which we might go to Kerala.

The film will be classy and a quality one. We have the confidence that we are going on in the right track. There are some big names in the cast list which we will announce soon. The title will also be revealed shortly".
