THALA AJITH IS NEXT ONLY TO SUPERSTAR RAJINI

The Thala Ajith starrer Vedalam which opened for Diwali has been doing great business since its release. The opening was record breaking and the film has gone on to gross around 65 crores in Tamil Nadu till date.

 

The overseas gross of the film has supposedly stormed past the 30 crores mark, with Malaysia contributing close to 12 crores in this total. Vedalam is in fact the 3rd highest Tamil grosser ever in Malaysia after the Superstar Rajini starrers Enthiran and Sivaji, and 2015's best Tamil grosser in the country. We have to see if it can rise up further in the all-time list.

 

Vedalam is still retaining a lot of shows in and around Chennai, in important screens, despite the release of new films such as Inji Iduppazhagi, 144, Uppu Karuvadu and the Hindi film Tamasha. We had given the film a Hit verdict last week and have to see if a verdict upgrade would happen in the coming week's box-office report.

 

The director of the film, Siva, is pretty thrilled with all this success, and this is what he had to tweet,
