The Thala Ajith Diwali winner Vedalam has crossed the 40 days mark at the box office and the film is still running in some centers across the world. The Dec 18 releases - Thangamagan, Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani have taken the major share of the screens though.

 

Coming to the TN box office, Vedalam is said to be among the few films to have given a distributors share of more than 40 crores, which is considered a benchmark for blockbuster films. This is the first Ajith film to give a TN distributors share of beyond 40 crores and the exact final share would be known once the film ends its run.

 

The worldwide gross collections of the film is widely reported to be in excess of 100 crores, with the overseas space contributing a gross of close to 33 crores. Some really humongous numbers indeed from this AM Rathnam production.
