With the Election Commission having annnounced the date of by-election for the R K Nagar constituency, the speculation over possible candidates from major political parties is heating up. The list of possible candidates is here.

DEEPA JAYAKUMAR - MGR AMMA DEEPA PERAVAI

Deepa Jayakumar - MGR Amma Deepa Peravai

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar had announced that she will contest from R K Nagar constituency in the by-election. Deepa recently launched a federation called 'MGR Amma Deepa Peravai'.

TTV DINAKARAN - AIADMK

TTV Dinakaran - AIADMK

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam may field the party general secretary V K Sasikala's nephew TTV Dinakaran in the R K Nagar bypoll battle. Dinakaran, who is a former MP,  is now AIADMK's deputy general secretary.

Thol. Thirumavalavan, president of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, is likely to be fielded by the People's Welfare Front.

E MADHUSUDHANAN - AIADMK (O PANNEERSELVAM CAMP)

E Madhusudhanan - AIADMK (O Panneerselvam camp)

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam senior leader E Madhusudhanan, who joined former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam's  camp revolting against the leadership of party general secretary V K Sasikala, is expected to contest in R K Nagar. Notably, Madhsudhanan was replaced by K A Sengottaiyan as the presidium chairman in the Assembly.

Shimla Muthuchozhan - DMK

Shimla Muthuchozhan, who is a daughter-in-law of former secretary general of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Sarguna Pandian, may be fielded by the party. Notably, Shimla Muthuchozhan is a resident of R K Nagar.
