On April 13, 1919, protesters from Amritsar demonstrated against British rule in India. They were been blocked inside the walled Jallianwala Gardens and fired upon by Gurkha soldiers.

ADEN’S TORTURE CENTERS

Aden’s Torture Centers started in Aden which is in modern Yemen. Harsh and brutal, these centres housed the sort of horrors that would make Kim Jong-Un feel ill. Detainees were stripped naked and kept in refrigerated cells, encouraging frostbite and pneumonia.

BOER CONCENTRATION CAMPS

Boer concentration camps

During the Second Boer War (1899-1902), the British rounded up around a sixth of the Boer population - mainly women and children - and detained them in camps, which were overcrowded and prone to outbreaks of disease, with scant food rations.
