The 1974 railway strike in India was the strike by workers of Indian Railways. More than 17 lakh workers strike for 20 days. The workers demanded a raise in pay scale.

The strike was reportedly planned against the government's plans for increasing privatisation and other economic policies. Notably, this is the largest strike in human history.
