Centre had made or proposed to make Aadhaar mandatory for almost all the processes in our day-to-day life. Here are a few things for which Aadhaar is mandatory.
DRIVING LICENCE
Aadhaar card will be made compulsory for getting Driving Licence soon.
SIM CARD VERIFICATION
Aadhaar-based re-verification of SIM cards must be done before the deadline of February 6, 2018.
PERMANENT ACCOUNT NUMBER
Permanent Account Number (PAN) will become invalid if not linked to Aadhaar before December 31, 2017.
DEGREE CERTIFICATES
UGC asked all universities to include Aadhaar numbers in the degree certificates.
VEHICLE REGISTRATION
Aadhaar will be made mandatory for registration of two-wheelers and four-wheelers in Tamil Nadu from April 1, 2017.
PREGNANT WOMEN
Aadhaar card was made mandatory for poor pregnant women to get benefits under the Janani Suraksha Yojana scheme.
BANK ACCOUNTS
Centre asked state governments to ensure that all individual bank accounts are seeded with Aadhaar numbers.
PENSIONERS
Employees' Provident Fund asked the members and pensioners of the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995 to submit their Aadhaar numbers by March 31.
ONLINE TRAIN TICKETS
Railway Ministry ordered to make Aadhaar number mandatory for senior citizens to avail concessions in train tickets from April 1 and compulsory for online train ticket bookings.
SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES
HRD Ministry announced that Aadhaar card would be mandatory for students to avail scholarship benefits
