Mammootty's Peranbu a.k.a. Resurrection, directed by the acclaimed director Ram and co-starring Anjali and Samuthirakani, had its World Premiere in Jan 2018 at the 47th International Film Festival of Rotterdam. Notably, Peranbu was the only Indian film to be in the top 20 amongst the 187 world films competing for the Audience Award category. The film was also nominated for the NETPAC award.

A recent press release from the film's team also revealed that the film has now been officially selected at 21st Shanghai International Film Festival which will be held from June 16 to June 25. The Asian Premiere of the film will be screened in this festival which is to be held in the city of Shanghai, China.

The teaser and the songs (it is a Yuvan Shankar Raja musical) of the film are to be released soon. Stay tuned to this space to catch them as soon as they come out!

January 19: Fahadh Faasil's Carbon, a thriller film directed by Venu co-starring Mamta Mohandas, with music scored by Vishal Bhardwaj.

January 25Rosapoo, a romantic comedy starring Biju Menon and Anjali, directed by Vinu Joseph.

January 26: Mammootty's Street Lights, a bilingual crime thriller film (Tamil and Malayalam), directed by cinematographer Shamdat in his directorial debut and produced by Mammootty.

January 26: Aadhi, a thriller starring Mohanlal's son Pranav Mohanlal, directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Aashirvad Cinemas.

With the Republic Day celebrations added to films of Mammootty and Mohanlal's son competing, January is going to be a film fest!
