PRASHANT PILLAI RECORDS A GHAZAL WITH HARIHARAN

Music director Prashant Pillai has been busy. The Amen music director has been working on quite a few projects, including Bejoy Nambiar's upcoming Bollywood film Wazir, starring Amitabh Bachchan as well as VK Prakash's Rock Star in Malayalam. 

 

The young music director has been over the moon because he has been able to work with some of the musicians he respects and adores, and he took to his social media page to express his excitement. He was working with singer/music director M Jayachandran for Rock Star, pictures of which he posted online, and recently, he also recorded a Ghazal track for an upcoming soundtrack with the iconic singer Hariharan. This is the first time the music director is working with the singer on his own project.

 

Prashant posted this exciting news on his social media page and wrote:

 

Had a mesmerising recording session with Hariharan A ji. Its been an impending dream to record him for a track for what he's known best - Ghazals... Though I've recorded him before it was the first time I was recording him for my song... The song is an ode to his classics Halka Nasha, Hazir, and Kaash...

Also, through this session I was happy to reconnect with another old acquaintance of mine the cult sound engineer - Saibu.. The man behind the sound of India's timeless pop scene in the 90' and 00's...

 

Meanwhile, Prashant also announed that he will be working with the Pakistani Qawwali singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. He holds the distinction of being the first music director to get Lucky Ali to sing a track in Malayalam for the film Amen.
