Fahadh Faasil's next, titled Monsoon Mangoes, will feature an interesting cast including Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz, Vinay Forrt, Aishwarya Menon, Sanju Sivram, Tovino Thomas, Jacob Gregory and Nandu, among others.
The film marks the feature film debut of Abi Varghese, the director of the cult hit comedy TV show Akkara Kaazhchakal, which was based on the story of a Malayali Christian family in the United States. Monsoon Mangoes has an interesting crew in place as well. The film has been written by Matt Grubb, Abi Varghese and Naveen Bhaskar and will feature Lukasz Pruchnik as the cameraman. Music is being handled by Jakes Bejoy. The film is expected to release in January, 2016.
A major portion of the film has been shot in the US, with parts in Jaipur. Reports indicate that Jacob Gregory will be playing an 80s disco-inspired character. The film was originally intended to be titled Bourbon Street, which was later changed to Njan DP Pallikkal and finally to Monsoon Mangoes.
