What is it about?
Jagga Jasoos finally hits the screen. The film was in its production for last four years. The movie brings back Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif on screen. Katrina Kaif plays a teacher and also a journalist who narrates an adventure story to her students and that is the start of the film. Ranbir Kapoor plays a higher secondary school kid. Jagga Jasoos is an adventure spy thriller which takes through a whole lot of stuff and keeps the audiences hooked through the mysteries that Ranbir tracks. Saswata Chatterjee plays Ranbir Kapoor's foster father who is a detective and gets trapped by the goons and Ranbir travels to find his dad, and that's when he unveils the mysteries. This builds the plot of the film.

What makes the film?
Anurag Basu's unique way of narrating the story builds the plot and takes it to all new heights. Jagga Jasoos is a musical adventure drama and with a good content in hand, Anurag has experimented in the screenplay to the maximum. Jagga played by Ranbir goes on a mission along with Katrina to find his foster father who gets trapped by weapon dealers. It is Ranbir's smartness, and Katrina's journalistic skills that lead them to find Saswata Chatterjee and they also find the entire gang of weapon dealers and illegal activities in Indian borders.

What didn't work?
The film strictly is for fans who are music lovers and who love experimental films. The film does not have any narrative dialogue. Ranbir from his young age stammers and he is comfortable only while singing and conveying the message. So, it might be a little annoying or boring to a few sections of audiences as the film has about 29 songs. Jagga Jasoos has too many detailing, and the script loses its core plot time and again which is a major drawback because of which it does not have engagement factor convincingly.

What worked?
The cinematography of Ravi Varman is the biggest asset of the film. His framing and usage of lights of the screen are just too brilliant to watch. Pritam's songs and background scores have worked exceptionally well. Jagaa Jasoos demands strong musical scores and Pritam's experiences can be felt while watching the film. Both Ravi Varman's shots and Pritam's musical score go hand in hand. Disney's CG inputs are very evident, and the production of the film looks rich in all the frames.

Well?
Jagga Jasoos is one of its kind film which is an entirely experimental one with Ranbir's performance making the film a must watch. And, Anurag's imagination of such a script is sure to surprise the audiences.

Verdict: Jagga Jasoos is high on technical brilliance and experimentation
