Tamannaah was supposed to play the lead in the Tamil remake of Kangana Ranaut's Queen, which was to be directed by actress Revathi. But eventually, it was then reported that the film was shelved.

However, when we got in touch with veteran actor and director Thiagarajan, who has the Tamil rights of the film, he told the project is very much on. "There are date issues with Tamannaah, and hence she might or might not do the film; some other heroine might also replace her.  We will get a clarity very soon on it. The pre-production works are in full swing, and we are planning to start rolling from April 30th. An official announcement will be out very soon."

The yet-to-be-titled Tamil remake of Queen, has dialogues penned by Suhasini Mani Ratnam and is produced by Thiagarajan.
