One of the youngest stars in the Tamil film industry to try his hand at various fields of filmmaking is Simbu. STR started off as a child artist, grew up to be a star and slowly ventured into writing and direction with Manmadhan and also rendered some songs for various musicians.

He had composed and sung independent songs but had never composed for a movie yet. With Santhanam's upcoming film, Sakka Podu Podu Raja, STR turned a music director, and it was one of the most exciting news that we had come across. The Vallavan actor also released a single, rendered by Anirudh Ravichander, called Kalakku Machaan and it was well received by fans and folk song lovers.
