Director Vinayan, who gave Kalabhavan Mani some of his most memorable roles is planning to do a film based on the life of the late actor. The director known for his films Kasi (Tamil), Aakasha Ganga, Karumadikuttan, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum and Vellinakshtram was unofficially banned by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), FEFKA Director's Union and FEFKA Production Executive's Union.


Recently, the Competition Commission of India gave an order based on a complaint registered by Vinayan finding the associations guilty of adopting unfair business practices. The CCI ordered a total penalty of more than Rs 11 lakh rupees. Technicians and actors from FEFKA and AMMA are expected to be a part of this film as the unofficial ban on Vinayan has been officially lifted. The cast and the crew are being finalized and the shoot of the film is anticipated to begin in October 2017. The director has not yet announced the name of the actor who will be playing Kalabhavan Mani.


Vinayan is the director who gave breakthroughs in Malayalam cinema to a handful of actors including Jayasurya, Indrajith Sukumaran, Anoop Menon, Honey Rose, Priyamani, Manikuttan, Suresh Krishna, 'Nam Naadu' Karthika and Meghana Raj.
